It’s a shark post! Bear with me, because I saw a lot of blacktips on my Raja trip and I have a lot of footage.
We went to a lagoon in northern Raja Ampat that is a Blacktip reef shark nursery. There were about 15 baby sharks swimming around. Sound on if you want to hear me being overexcited about sharks (timestamp 1:06 for one of the happiest moments of my life). I wish I’d gotten a bit more underwater footage, because the little I got is very cool, but again, I was overexcited. I stood in that lagoon until everyone else was back on the boat, ready to leave.
And a snippet of underwater footage.
Underwater snippet of one with three pilot fish.
And a teeny tiny baby that was difficult to keep track of!
And, finally, an adult Blacktip from one of our night dives.
I just really love sharks :) Have a fin-tastic day! (I’ve been unemployed for too long; I’m doing terrible puns now).
He touched you!! Haha, you sound so excited. It's very cute. I think I would have been scared as well, because...you know...shark! But they do look very sweet. Love the colour of the baby ones. It looks like they go more grey when they grow up.
I'm liking this new Critter of the Day format with the videos. Also don't think you have been unemployed too long - I'm sure it wasn't long enough. Needed at least another couple of weeks around Indonesia somewhere. Though it sounds like the trip was quite intense with night diving, etc!
Hope things are going well :-)
